Host Families sought to billet Lakers...

The CDA Lakers are in need of local families to lodge players for the upcoming 2008-2009 season. Families are reimbursed $300 per month for the duration of the player's stay. If interested please contact the Lakers at cdaLakers@yahoo.com or phone (509) 999-6043.

Lakers' Sign Local Talent...

The CDA Lakers recently received commitments from three local players in Mitchell Fowler, Tyler Alos and Jesse Collins. "We are very pleased to get commitments from three local players of this caliber," said Lakers' Head Coach Brian Moon. All three players played for the Spokane Junior Chiefs last season and were taken in this year's WHL Bantam Draft. Collins and Fowler were taken by the Memorial Cup champions Spokane Chiefs and Alos by the Seattle Thunderbirds. "By committing to these younger players we hope to continue our success of player development for the next level," said Moon.

Former Lakers in the News...

Former Lakers' forward Tyler Johnson is continuing to have a great Rookie season with the Spokane Chiefs. Tyler finished his regular season with 13 goals and 22 assists for a total of 35 points. May 12^th Johnson was named WHL player of the week and in the WHL's championship series Johnson scored two game winning goals to earn the series MVP. The Spokane Chiefs won the Memorial Cup defeating the Kitchener Rangers in the final game 4-1.

Collin Bowman former Lakers' d-man has had a good start to his WHL career with the Kelowna Rockets. Collin showed good consistensy on the blue line with a plus/minus of 20 and 9 points as a 16 year old Rookie.

The Lakers are proud to announce that Lakers' d-man Tanner Mort was taken in the WHL Draft. Tanner was taken by the Spokane Chiefs.

Tryout Dates Announced -- August 8-10
